The BLIS PROGRAM is designed to develop the knowledge and skills required for the provision of information to users. Librarianship is a profession that involves managing and providing access to information resources. Librarians work in various settings, including public and academic libraries, museums, archives, and other information organizations. They help individuals and communities find and use information resources for learning, personal growth, and success.

Develop professional competence for serving school, academic, public, special libraries and information centers; Instill upon the student the importance of the profession in our society, particularly to the academic, business, research and other institutions engaged in the promotion , preservation, and use of information sources; Develop their attitudes, skills, and values to enhance their personal competence needed in the practice of their profession.

The program mission is to improve society through facilitating knowledge creation, develop the proper character and traits needed to become an efficient and effective librarian; and Integrate activities and laboratory experience under the supervision of qualified library and information professionals to enhance the students’ knowledge and abilities for providing the highest quality information services.
