Blessing of the Main Crucifix and Holy Mass at Cor Jesu College’s Sacro Coure Chapel

Digos City, September 21, 2024 — Cor Jesu College celebrated a significant milestone in the ongoing construction of its Sacro Coure Chapel with the blessing of the main crucifix, followed by a solemn holy mass.

The event was presided over by Fr. Ferdinand Lariosa, who led the community in prayer and thanksgiving. Attendees included alumni, students, and faculty, all gathered to witness the sacred occasion. The construction of the Sacro Coure Chapel began in April 2024 and, while still ongoing, has already become a spiritual cornerstone for the Cor Jesu community.

Fr. Lariosa emphasized the chapel’s importance as a symbol of faith and unity for the institution. “This chapel will stand as a place of refuge and reflection, not just for the students but for all who seek solace and spiritual growth,” he remarked during the homily.

The event was also an opportunity for alumni to reconnect with their alma mater and reflect on the values of service, compassion, and faith that Cor Jesu College upholds.

The Sacro Coure Chapel, once completed, will be a central location for the school’s religious activities, fostering a deeper connection between the community and their faith.
