Cor Jesu College Granted Prestigious Autonomous Status by CHED

Digos City, Philippines – Cor Jesu College is proud to announce that it has officially been granted Autonomous Status by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) on September 23, 2024. This recognition comes after a long period of anticipation, with months of waiting, underscoring the importance and prestige of this accomplishment.

Despite the extended waiting time for approval, the core team at Cor Jesu College undertook a remarkably swift preparation process. In just one month, a dedicated team composed of administrators, faculty, and staff worked tirelessly to meet CHED’s rigorous standards. The preparation began with a workshop on August 15, 2023, aimed at ensuring the institution met all the prerequisites for autonomy. On September 15, 2023, the team successfully submitted the application documents to the CHED Regional Office (CHEDRO) for initial validation, followed by the endorsement from the Office of Institutional Quality Assurance and Governance (OIQAG) on September 28, 2023.

Autonomous Status is awarded to higher education institutions that have demonstrated outstanding performance in providing quality education and maintaining high standards in governance and academic programs. This status grants Cor Jesu College the freedom to implement new academic initiatives and expand its programs with greater flexibility, allowing it to innovate and respond more effectively to the needs of its students and the broader community.

With this milestone, Cor Jesu College is set to continue its path of academic excellence and growth, ensuring that its students receive transformative education in a forward-thinking, adaptable learning environment.
