On January 28, 2025, Cor Jesu College proudly served as the host for the 2025 Diocese of Digos Commission on Catholic Schools (DDCCS) Educator’s Congress. With the theme “Together We Live the Jubilee Year of Hope with Love, Joy, and Peace,” the event brought together educators from various Catholic institutions to celebrate unity, learning, and collaboration.
The day commenced with a morning mass presided over by Rev. Fr. Urbano Pardillo, DCD, Superintendent of DDCCS. Following a short break, the official program began with Sir Juvani Rojo as the host. Cor Jesu College President, Br. Ellakim P. Sosmeña, SC, PhD, delivered the welcoming address, setting the tone for the day’s activities. To further ignite enthusiasm, the CJC Red Ambassadors and the Terpsichorean Performing Group presented an inspiring overture and opening salvo.
A highlight of the congress was the presence of esteemed resource speakers, Rev. Fr. Juan D. Macalisang, STL, PhD, and Atty. Genevieve Marie Dolores Brandares-Paulino, who shared their expertise and insights with the attendees.
A total of 16 schools actively participated in the event: Cor Jesu College, Inc., Holy Cross Academy of Digos, Inc., Holy Cross of Caburan, Inc., Holy Cross of Hagonoy, Inc., Holy Cross of Kiblawan, Inc., Holy Cross of Magsaysay, Inc., Holy Cross of Malalag, Inc., Holy Cross of Malita, Inc., Holy Cross of Matanao, Inc., Holy Cross of Sta. Maria, Inc., Holy Cross of Sulop, Inc., St. John Marie Vianney of Sulop, Inc., Rogationist Academy, Madre Pia Notari School of Davao del Sur, Inc., St. Michael’s School of Padada, Inc., and St. Mary’s College of Bansalan, Inc.
Adding to the excitement of the congress, each school had the opportunity to showcase their spirit through a 30-second cheer and yell performance, fostering a sense of identity and acknowledgment within the event. Faculty members also had the chance to win exciting raffle prizes in two batches, where various appliances were awarded.
To further strengthen camaraderie among educators, the event featured a series of engaging parlor games that encouraged interaction and teamwork across the different schools.
The 2025 DDCCS Educator’s Congress at Cor Jesu College was a meaningful and memorable gathering, highlighting the values of unity, hope, and shared purpose within Catholic education. The event not only provided a platform for learning and inspiration but also cultivated friendships and joyful moments among the faculty members of the participating schools.
