Digos City Meet 2024: Cor Jesu College, Inc. dominates with 192 medals

In an astounding display of talent and sportsmanship, the recently concluded Digos City Meet showcased the prowess of Cor Jesu College young athletes across various disciplines. The competition, spanning multiple categories, brought together students from secondary and elementary schools, turning the event into a celebration of athletic achievement and teamwork.

In the Secondary Division’s Basketball Boys category, there was a remarkable display of skill, resulting in the claim of 12 gold medals. Additionally, the 3-on-3 Basketball Boys team also achieved success by securing 4 gold medals.Top of Form Not to be outdone, the Elementary Level also showcased excellence, securing 4 gold medals in Boys Basketball. Dance Sports stole the spotlight, with both High School – Latin and High School – Standard categories exhibiting remarkable skill. The Elementary Division in Dance Sports was equally captivating, with students earning a remarkable 12 gold medals in one of the categories.

Also, chess enthusiasts displayed strategic brilliance, with the Secondary Boys and Girls categories clinching 1 gold and 2 silver, and 1 gold and 1 bronze respectively. In the Elementary division, the Boys secured 2 gold medals. Swimming proved to be a highlight, especially in the High School Boys category, where 1 gold, 5 silver, and 3 bronze medals were proudly won. The High School Girls demonstrated their aquatic knack, securing 2 gold, 2 silver, and 2 bronze medals. Taekwondo enthusiasts showcased their skills, securing a total of 13 gold medals across various categories.

The Secondary Boys and Girls divisions demonstrated particular prowess, claiming 7 gold and 6 gold medals respectively. In the Secondary division, both Boys and Girls Volleyball teams demonstrated stellar teamwork, each securing 12 gold medals. The cumulative efforts of the athletes and cultural participants resulted in a total of 119 gold, 46 silver, and 32 bronze medals. The event not only celebrated athletic achievements but also emphasized the importance of teamwork, discipline, and dedication in the development of young athletes. Indeed, Cor Jesu College, Inc. stands to its commitment to nurturing well-rounded individuals who excel not only in academics but also in sportsmanship and camaraderie, truly drawing out the best in students.
