“This is again an opportunity for me to present the real situation of the indigenous peoples vis-a-vis the development paradigms imposed on them in their sacred territories by the government and its funding institutions” said Dr. Bayod.
During his talk, he challenged the audience to also do research about the situations of the indigenous peoples in their respective areas. He even offered to do collaboration with them and also duplicate the methodologies and strategies he employed in the conduct of his research. He also stressed the significant roles of the academe in promoting a just and humane society through research and community development services. As a result, many researchers in the country as well as abroad were excited to collaborate with him about this area. “I am affirmed when many of them come to me get my contact numbers as well as email address so they can collaborate with me in their plan to conduct research along this area” – Dr. Bayod said.
