Dr. Remegias G. Timonio, Ed. D., the Provincial Director of TESDA Davao del Sur, recently conducted an inspection at Cor Jesu College’s Halal Kitchen Laboratory. This initiative is in response to TESDA Secretary Suharto T. Mangudadatu’s goal of integrating Halal technical vocational education and training (TVET). During the inspection, he encouraged the ITVET administrator, Engr. Wayne D. Manabat, to apply for Halal accreditation. Additionally, Dr. Ronald Lambayan, the Soft Skills and BSHM Program Head, suggested conducting benchmarking visits to Halal certified schools in Davao City. He also recommended inviting Halal certified trainers and cooks to provide training to CJC’s TESDA-accredited trainers to make the laboratory fully functional.
In addition, PD Timonio and JimarkTortor, the scholarship focal person, conducted scholarship monitoring for first-year scholars enrolled in the Diploma in Hospitality and Tourism Technology. During this visit, PD Timonio emphasized the future roles of the Diploma graduates in the industry and encouraged scholars to remain diligent in their studies. He also recognized the school’s efforts in providing a conducive learning environment, saying, ‘You are fortunate to be enrolled at Cor Jesu because they have state-of-the-art facilities here in Davao del Sur,’ added PD Timonio.
