Seeking to improve understanding between the two academic institutions and to establish mutually beneficial collaborations benefiting their respective students and faculty, Cor Jesu College, Inc., (CJC) and Assumption College of Nabunturan (ACN) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) as a first step toward achieving these shared goals.
The ceremonial signing of the MoU happened last March 31, 2023 at CJC Traning Center and was attended by 15 CJC school administrators headed by Br. Ellakim P. Sosmeña, SC, the school president, and 21 ACN school administrators headed by Sr. Myrna Taganas, fma, the school president.
Both institutions agree to implement within the framework of the rules and regulations applicable in each of the institutions and subject to availability of funds and resources, programs, projects, and activities, which may include, but are not limited to student and/or academic and administrative faculty exchanges; joint research activities; joint community engagement program and activities; exchange of publications, reports and other academic materials and information; and sharing of other activities and programs in areas of mutual interest, where such sharing shall result in benefit to both Parties.
The two schools also mutually decided that the terms and conditions of any program and activity contemplated in the signed MoU shall be the subject matter of separate written agreements to be negotiated and agreed upon by both institutions and/or any third parties, wherever applicable.
During the ceremony, it was expressed that academic institutions are facing daunting challenges to provide sound and fundamental education to students and to prepare them to become skilled members of the workforce who are increasingly driven by the new information age and artificial intelligence.
The two school presidents claimed that school-to-school partnerships present a viable framework to help narrow the gap and achieve school vision, mission, goals, and objectives.
Through this collaboration, the partner institutions would be able to share resources, talents, expertise, knowledge, and best practices to achieve one or several important objectives in their respective schools.
