Four senior high school (SHS) students from Cor Jesu College participated in the First International Multidisciplinary Research Conference held at the JC Leisure and Business Place Lanao, Kidapawan City, North Cotabato, Philippines last July 28, 2018. The conference was sponsored by Central Mindanao Colleges.
Cor Jesu College sent them to the conference after their papers were accepted for presentation by the reviewers and organizers. Exposure of students to research congresses as presenters is one of the thrusts of Cor Jesu College to develop the culture of research within the institution and to enhance students’ knowledge and skills in research.
Alyssa Louisse T. Curato presented her paper entitled “Hanky for Life: Exploring the Challenges of Millenials with Palmar Hyperhidrosis.”, Mae Antonnette Balili presented her paper entitled “Grim Reapers: The Untold Stories of Embalmers.”, Anne Camille P. Balabag presented her paper entitled “Developments and Sentiments: Local Residents on Road Widening.” , and Norielee Mae Minguito Abalayan presented her paper entitled “No Body’s Perfect: Uncovering The Reactions And Insights Of Oversize Millennials Experiencing Fat Shaming.”
The presented papers were the outputs of the students from their Practical Research 1 (qualitative) subject. They were accompanied by their mentor- Dr. Ida G. Tudy and another professor- Mr. Rodrigo C. Carandang who also presented his paper entitled “Pansariling Kabisaan sa Kompyuter ng mga Guro at Paggamit ng Information Communications Technology sa Pagtuturo ng Wika.”
This is the second group of senior high school students to present in an international research congress after John Paul Benedict B. Aves, Kyla A. Cuevas, and Jans Ariane S. Jumawan presented their respective papers during the 2nd International Research Conference held at Brokenshire Resort and Convention Center, Madapo Hills, Davao City last March 16, 2018.
